Papa Novasio’s Spaghetti Sauce

 Stuff you’ll need:

 1˝ lbs lean ground beef

2 Italian sausages (approx ˝ lb)

2 medium onions

1 lb fresh mushrooms (optional)

5- 15 oz cans tomato sauce

1- 6 oz can tomato paste

1 tbsp Italian seasoning

2 tbsp parsley flakes

2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped fine

˝ tsp Oregano

 Preparation:

 Strip skin from sausage, mix with ground beef and onions (chopped).  Brown mixture in skillet with 2 tbsp cooking oil.  While meat is browning, pour tomato sauce into large saucepan along with tomato paste and bring to simmer (stirring frequently, it burns easily).  Add seasoning and stir in (crush all dry seasoning when adding to sauce).  Drain browned meat mixture and stir into sauce.  Simmer two hours, stirring occasionally.  Add coarsely chopped mushrooms and simmer just until mushrooms start to sink.  Serve with grated Parmesan cheese or melt Mozzarella cheese over the top.  This recipe will make enough for a good meal and plenty left over to freeze (it freezes well).  It’s so good you’ll eat it ‘til you explode.  Enjoy!
